“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

1 John 1:9 (KJV New Testament)

Reflection

In the light of the Resurrection, confession is not a legal transaction but a return to the Great Physician. Christ, who trampled down death by death, does not merely remit a debt; He pours out His life to heal the fractured image within us. To confess is to bring our wounds into His radiance, cooperating with His grace to be scrubbed clean of the corruption that binds us. As the Holy Fathers teach, our salvation is a journey of communion, where our freedom meets God’s infinite love to transfigure us into His likeness. He is faithful to forgive because He desires our wholeness, inviting us to participate in His own divine life through the mysteries of the Church. The path to theosis begins with this honest turning. Come, lay aside every weight and turn toward Christ.
