“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
1 John 4:8 (KJV New Testament)
Reflection
To know God is not to master a concept, but to enter a life. St. John reveals that God’s very essence is love—a communion of Three Persons into which we are invited. Through the Incarnation, the risen Son of God has trampled down death, not to satisfy a legal debt, but to heal our fractured nature. Salvation is this restorative process of theosis, where we are gradually permeated by the Divine Fire. God offers His grace freely, yet He awaits our "yes." He does not force the heart; we must cooperate with His healing work through our own movement of love. As we turn from self-centeredness to charity, we begin to see Him as He is. Cast aside fear and cold abstractions. The Physician of souls is here; turn toward Christ.
