2 Maccabees 7:20
“Admirable also was the mother, who, neither broken by the weakness of her sex nor shaken by manifold bereavement, looked with willing eyes upon her dying children, and reckoned those sufferings of her offspring not as pains but as glories, offering to God as great a martyrdom by the courage of her eyes as her sons off…”
20But the mother was marvellous above all, and worthy of honourable memory: for when she saw her seven sons slain within the space of one day, she bare it with a good courage, because of the hope that she had in the Lord.
